Muharram comment: Kumar Viswas apologises to JD(U) MLA
The JD(U) sought an apology from the AAP leader citing a video showing Vishwas's remark.
The video shows Kumar Vishwas saying that when a foreigner asked him about Muharram festival rituals, he replied that people hurt themselves on Muharram in grief for their ancestors who died 400 years ago. The comment created huge furore across the country and nearly 23 cases were filed against him in various cities.
"This kind of use of language about a religious event is shocking and extremely derogatory", said the JD(U) MLA.
On Monday morning, Kejriwal responded to Iqbal's allegations and said Viswas has already apologised for his comment.
However, Congress sources say that the real reason behind the threat is to negotiate for the post of Deputy Speaker from the AAP.
