While it was stated yesterday that the terrorists who carried out both the attacks were part of the same module, it is now found that the modus operandi was very similar.
In both the attacks various targets were assigned and they needed to strike at at least one. In the Gurdaspur attack, the terrorists were given three targets.
It was the same in the Udhampur attack as well and the terrorists had more than one target.
It was either meant to be an attack on the Amarnath Yatra or the army.
More details emerge on Mohammad Naved:
The investigators now have a confirmed name of the terrorist who was arrested yesterday. He is Mohammad Naved alias Usman Khan, an officer informed OneIndia.
He is exactly 22 years old our preliminary investigations have shown. The other details which are already known are that he was part of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba and had trained in Pakistan.
OneIndia had reported earlier that he has two brothers and a sister and also the name of his father as per his own account is Yosuf Mohammad.
He was part of a team trained by the Lashkar specifically to carry out attacks in India.
There is however another angle to the case that the police are checking on.
Yesterday he had told them that he had infiltrated along with Noman 12 days back which indicates that they had come in with the Gurdaspur attackers.
However now he has changed the date of infiltration and says he came to India in a lorry a month back.
Big team of investigators:
There would be nearly 20 officers interrogating him in batches.
The Jammu and Kashmir police, local Intelligence Bureau officials, central intelligence bureau sleuths and most likely the National Investigating Agency too would question him.
Part of the investigation process would be to collect as many details as possible on his module and origin. The police will subject him to a medical test which would easily determine his age.
The police have also told him that they could help him in case he wished to source his date of birth certificate from Faisalbad.
