Modi to Ravi Shashtri: UP polls did not go down to the wire
BJP president Amit Shah also replied to Ravi Shashtri's tweet by telling that the win was scored thanks to many singles taken by BJP members
New Delhi, March 17: The Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls "did not quite go down to the wire", Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday.
Modi said this in a tweet while replying to a congratulatory message from former cricketer Ravi Shastri. "Congratulations @BJP4India on the landslide win in UP. The pair of PM @narendramodi & @AmitShah went past 300-mark like a #TracerBullet," Shastri tweeted.

"Thank you. UP polls did not quite go down to the wire. But, at the end of the day democracy is indeed the real winner," the Prime Minister responded.
