Mock polls held in Udhampur ahead of assembly elections

Udhampur, Nov 23: As a part of the ongoing preparation for ensuring smooth conduct of Assembly Election in the Valley, a mock poll was held to test efficiency of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) here at PG College Udhampur in which representative of various political parties participated.

During the mock poll as many as 1000 votes were cast in the 5 percent EVM's chosen for the process.

Mock polling was done in the presence of General Election Observer 60-Udhampur, Dr. K. Gopal, General Election Observer 61-Chenani, Mr. Mohite M.V and District Election Officer, Udhampur, Mrs. Yasha Mudgal.

During the mock poll, the representatives of all political parties were allowed to verify the correct functioning of the EVMs.

Later, the counting of votes was also held in presence of General Observers and they expressed satisfaction with the whole mock poll process.

Among others , RO 61-Chenani, Mr Vikas Sharma, IAS probationer , Kritika Batra, RO 60- Udhampur, Mr. Pawan Parihar , ACR Mr Rajeev Magotra, BEL engineers and representatives of various political parties were also present on the occasion.
