Mizoram assembly election 2013: Voting and counting dates changed
As per the revised schedule for Mizoram polls, counting will now take place on December 09 instead of December 08.
Several political parties, NGOs and churches and other religious organisations had requested for a change in the date for polls to elect the 40-member State Assembly.
The earlier dates of polling and counting of votes had coincided with the time when the Mizoram Synod, the highest decision-making body of the Presbyterian, would hold state-wide conference in Aizawl and the counting day fell on Sunday, a sacred day for Christians.
