Need Justice: Mr Salim PK, Delhi Police Head Constable

But recently, it was revealed that Delhi police Head Constable Salim PK had suffered a serious stroke, whose video was filmed and uploaded on YouTube.

Salim PK wants his lost dignity back

Now, 50-year-old Mr Salim PK has sought compensation for 'defamation through social media', for which he has approached the Supreme Court as well.

Salim has also appealed the Centre, Delhi government, Police Commissioner, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and the Press Council of India to look into the matter and to bring measures to avoid abuse on social media.

According to media reports, Salim is posted at the Civil Lines police station in New Delhi. He has been serving Delhi Police since 1986.

The video, that was uploaded on Aug 22, 2015, shows him in wrong projection and got large number of views on YouTube, not only from India but from abroad also.

Salim was suspended by Delhi Police chief

Once the video went viral, the then Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi had suspended him. But after coming to know the truth by checking his medical records and verifying the facts, his suspension was revoked on Nov 5, 2015.

Now, Salim wants that video should be deleted from all social networks.

The video is named 'Drunk Delhi Police man on Delhi metro - Funny' and the duration of video clip is 1 minute 12 seconds.

Salim is at his native state Kerala

After undergoing public humiliation and lost of his dignity, Salim went to his native place in Kerala, on a 3-month medical leave.

Salim also suffers from a speech disorder and after the unfortunate incident, his wife also suffered a serious stroke, after which she had to undergo an operation. His 87-year-old father is also bed-ridden.

Salim's lawyer, Wills Mathews was quoted saying as to the Mail Today, "When the video went viral and Salim was suspended, it made front page news. When he was taken back, not a single newspaper or TV channel carried it. In the eyes of the general public, the petitioner was drunk in the metro and he is still under suspension."

As per Mail Today, Mr Salim PK is an honest and dedicated police officer, who never shun away from his duties, even when his health needs to be taken care of.

Because of his dedication and seriousness towards his work, he was inducted the special security team of former Home Minister P Chidambaram and ex-Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.

Due to stroke, his health deteriorated further that led to the paralysis on the left side of his body, brain haemorrhage, memory loss, body weakness and speech disorder.

What happened on Aug 19, 2015?

This is the day that led to a horrific u-turn into Mr Salim's life. On that day, he worked till 9:30 pm since morning, even when his health was not allowing him to work. He had also forgotten to take his medicines and he fell sick.

He somehow managed to board the metro to reach his home, but suddenly he started felling dizzy and unable to stand properly and was not even able to locate the door at Azadpur metro station, where he had to get down.

Suddenly, he lost consciousness and fell on the metro ground, and someone made the video of the incident and uploaded on YouTube in a misleading way.
