Melbourne: Malayali artist to narrate Australia's history through paintings
Melbourne, Aug 4: A Malayali artist residing in Australia is on an extra-ordinary venture. In a solo exhibition to be conducted in Melbourne in first week of September, Australia, Sedunath Prabhakar, an artist from Kerala, is set to narrate Australia's history through 50 portraits of eminent personalities of the country.

It is for the first time, such a painting exhibition is being held in Australia. Sedunath used acrylic medium to paint and reportedly, he has done many researches, interviews, referred books to get information about the 50 personalities as well as the history of Australia.

It took 1.5 years to complete the 50 meter canvas which carry all the 50 paintings.

Sedunath studied in prestigious Baroda School of Arts. The relationship between the nature and human beings began to be an important and recurring theme in his works.Through his paintings he also attempts to explore the nuances involving religion and its interplay with society.

An exhibition conducted in his home state, Kerala, of a series titled 'God of Religion' was an attempt to unravel the unholy nature of religion's interplay in society.He won 'Hemaprabha guru' award of Gujarat state for having organized a gallery based on Jaina tradition in oil paint. Sedunath has conducted exhibitions in Indian cities, Mumbai, Baroda, Ahamadabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikkode.
