Mayawati’s advice to PM Modi: 1st build shamshaan for Hindus in BJP-ruled states
On Tuesday, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati slammed PM Narendra Modi for his alleged ‘communal' remarks in poll-bound UP.
Lucknow, Feb 21: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stirred the hornet's nest by making kabristan and shamshaan remark in a poll rally at Fatehpur, UP, on Sunday.
"If a graveyard is built in a village, so should there be a cremation ground. If there is electricity in Ramzan, it should also be there on Diwali; there should be no discrimination," the PM said at the rally.
On Tuesday, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati slammed the PM for his alleged 'communal' remarks.
Reacting to Modi's statement, Mayawati said, "The Bharatiya Janata Party should first build cemetery for Hindus in villages located in all the states ruled by the party. Then they should come and talk in UP. (Pehle inhe apne BJP shaasit rajyo mein har gaaon mein Hinduon ke shamshaan ghaat banwane chahiye, phir UP mein ye baat karni chahiye)."

According to ANI, Mayawati said the BJP had realised that the party was not going to form the next government in Uttar Pradesh. The Dalit leader accused the PM of making communal remarks in poll-bound UP.
"In the past three-four days, the PM has given wrong statements, bringing in caste and religious angles because they seem to be fairing badly."
Earlier, an 'angry' Congress accused the Prime Minister of dividing the voters on communal lines. The BJP in its defence said the Congress and the Samajwadi Party have been indulging in the most perverse form of secularism by being partial towards the Hindus.
While clarifying the party's stand on not practicising communal politics, Mayawati said, "The BSP respected every religion during its tenure, whether it was providing electricity during festivals, or any law and order issue."
