Mayawati calls opinion polls ‘fake’; says election results to reveal oppositions’ ‘design’
Mayawati expressed her reservations about opinion polls conducted by various agencies ahead of elections.
Lucknow, Feb 2: All these days, none of the opinion polls predicted win for the Bahujan Samaj Party in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. Finding these forecasts totally against her party's election prospects, BSP supremo Mayawati called these surveys as 'fake'.
Speaking at an election rally in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, the Dalit leader said these opinion polls were conducted at the behest of the opposition parties.
"The opposition parties are conducting these fake opinion polls or surveys. With these surveys, they are trying to create a wave about themselves in the state. However, the designs of the oppositions will be revealed during the election results. (Vipakshi partiyan farzi opinion poll or survey dikha kar apni hava bana rahi hain, inki pol tab khulegi jab chunav hoga: Mayawati)," said Mayawati.
Attacking the Bharatiya Janata Party, one of the BSP's main rivals in the state elections, Mayawati said the saffron party was against the Dalits and minorities.
"If the BJP comes to power it will finish the reservations and facilities given to minorities by following their Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh agenda," said Mayawati. The BSP supremo added that it was a matter of concern how the BJP-led government in the Centre was interfering with sensitive subjects like Uniform Civil Code.
She also questioned the Centre's hesitation to reveal the amount of black money collected post demonetisation. Mayawati, on Thursday, attended two election rallies, one each in Bulandshahr and Hathras.
