65 AAP MLAs including Manish Sisodia, detained during protest march

New Delhi,June 26: 65 Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs along with Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, were detained during a march towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence to protest the arrest of party legislator Dinesh Mohaniya on Saturday June 25.

A complaint was filed against Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and AAP MLas on Saturday, June 25 by the president of Ghazipur Vegetable Market Association accusing Sisodia for intimidating the businessmen during his official visit to the market.

According to reports, the police confirmed that they have received a complaint by the president, Surender Goswami, but no FIR would be registered as no cognizable offence was found to be committed.

Meanwhile, Sisodia said that "we went to Ghazipur vegetable market (mandi) and saw some people indulging in illegal practices and warned them if they continue to do so, we will get their license cancelled."

"We were stopped several times by the Modi government for developmental work and for working against corruption in Delhi. I scolded them (businessmen) too, they are saying I misbehaved. Yes, I did. If I see anyone indulging in illegal practices, I will scold them."

Sisodia also said, "If Modi government has problem with me, they can arrest me, but they should not interfere in AAP work for the welfare of Delhi."

On Saturday, Dinesh Mohaniya, AAP legislator from Sangam Vihar in southern Delhi, was arrested on charges of "sexual harassment" and sent in judicial custody. The complaint was filed by a woman who visited his office-cum residence in Sangam Vihar over water supply problems.

In recent development, Deputy Commissioner of Police Jatin Narwal said that "All the MLAs including Sisodia have been detained and taken to the Tughlaq Road police station."
