New Delhi, Feb 3: Priyanka Vadra had to board another flight , as the Chennai-bound Jet Airways flight, that she was to board, fell prey to a bomb hoax, on Tuesday, Feb 2.
According to media reports, the incident happened on Monday, Feb 1 morning, when a 44-year-old Delhi-based flyer uttered the 'bomb' word and triggered a massive security alert.
Following the panic, the Jet Airways flight 9W 821 went through a thorough security-check, after which the man was detained by the security personnel.
The man, who got frustrated after multiple security checks, irritably asked one of the airline staff, "Kya check kar rahe ho baar baar? Mere paas bomb hai kya? (What are you checking for again and again? Do I have a bomb?)", a news report said.
The incident became more serious as Congress President Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Vadra, along with her daughter Miraya Vadra, was about to board the same flight at 6.50 am.
But as all the passengers were asked to alight from the plane, Vadra flew to Chennai by next available flight at 9.15 am.
It took almost three hours, that the Jet Airways flight was properly checked and declared safe. It finally took off at 10:00 am.
The man, at the centre of all the drama, was released on Monday evening, after six hours of interrogation by intelligence officials and with a warning that he won't utter such threatening words on airports now-onwards.
Earlier also, some flyers have caused trouble by uttering words like bomb, blast and hijack!
