Mamata's close aide arrested on arrival from Dhaka
Kolkata, Feb 22: In a major embarrassment for Mamata Banerjee her close aide Shibhaji Panja was arrested at the Kolkata airport on his arrival from Dhakha, Bangladesh. He was arrested in connection with an economic offences case.
Panja had accompanied Mamata on her trip to Bangladesh. He is a small time businessman and had become extremely close to the CM in the past couple of years.
Look out circular:
A Look out circular had been issued against him on February 19. He is a small time businessman with investments in television channels. Some of his financial transactions had been suspect which prompted the the security agencies to issue a look out circular against him.
He is also a Managing Director of a firm worth Rs 1400 crore which makes computers. He also owns a local channel in West Bengal.
On his arrival, he was detained by the immigration officials and then handed over to the police. He will be handed over to the Delhi police who say they need to investigate him.

He
had

increasingly

CM.
