New Delhi, Nov 23: Mamata Banerjee is the only Chief Minister who is yet to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 7RCR in Delhi. The CM's wrath against Modi government at the centre continues as her party Trinamool Congress (TMC) rejected BJP's invitation to attend all party meeting in New Delhi on Sunday, Nov 23.
Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister, sent invitations to all political parties to attend an all-party meet to discuss agenda for Parliament's winter session which will begin from Monday, Nov 24.
According to BJP sources, Rudy called for the meeting for smooth functioning of winter session of the Parliament. The Winter Session will continue till Dec 23. It will consist of 22 sittings.
Rejecting the invitation, the TMC has said that it will not attend the meeting, claiming that meeting was called at a very short notice. Derek O'Brien. the senior leader of the party, issued an official statement on Sunday.
The TMC leader said, "TMC not attending this all-party meeting. We are not available at BJP's beck and call. Written a letter recording our point of view."
"Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajiv Rudy's called all-party meet at short notice on Sunday. Why not working day? Betrays govt panic before Session", O'Brien added.
"Govt has pro-MNC agenda. We have pro-people line. Blackmoney, poll reform, communalism, political vendetta, 100-day hoax. Will raise all", he added.
Experts believe that TMC's decision of boycotting the all party meeting in Delhi is the aftereffect of some reports which claimed that another leader of the party Ahmed Hassan Imran has been summoned by CBI in connection with infamous Saradha scam.
Hassan, who is also a Rajya Sabha MP, was questioned earlier also by Enforcement Directorate (ED). West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's party faced humiliation when the CBI arrested its MP Srinjoy Bose in connection with the infamous ponzi scam.
