New Delhi, Aug 14: A major tragedy has been averted with the army foiling a bid by terrorists attempting to blow up the railway track in Assam. The army recovered 7 kilograms of explosives placed on the track between Kokhrajar and Guwahati.
There have been a series of alerts that have been issues especially in the North Eastern states ahead of the Independence Day celebrations. Sources say that the 7 kilograms of explosives may have been planted by cadres of the KLO (Kamtapur Liberation Army. It would have been a major catastrophe had the explosives gone off.
