Election results: BJP sweeps Gujarat, Rajasthan, gains in Maharashtra

Bangalore, May 16: The results of the 2014 Lok Sabha election were declared on May 16.

The NDA won 26 seats in Gujarat, 25 in Rajasthan and 42 in Maharashtra.

3.30 pm: Mumbai south central: Shiv Sena candidate Rahul Shewale wins by a margin of 1.38 lakh votes.

3.00 pm: BJP candidate Arjunlal Meena is leading from Udaipur (ST) in Rajasthan.

1.55 pm: Mumbai North West- Congress candidate and sitting MP Gurudas Kamat loses and congratulates Shiv Sena's wining candidate Gajanan Kirtikar.

1.45 pm: SushilKumar Shinde loses from Solapur. NCP candidate Praful Patel loses from Bhandara-Gondia constituency.

1.40 pm: Congress leader Sachin Pilot loses from Ajmer, Rajasthan.

1.23 pm: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh calls Narendra Modi and congratulates him on his party's victory in the Lok Sabha elections.
