Maharashtra assembly ruckus: Suspension of all 19 MLAs revoked
The Maharashtra parliamentary affairs minister on Friday said that the government had revoked the suspension on all MLAs who were suspended by the speaker. The speaker had revoked the suspension of 9 MLAs on April 1 while 10 others remained suspended. The suspension of 10 other legislators was also revoked on Friday.
"The Maharashtra government has revoked the ban on remaining 10 opposition MLAs who were suspended for the uproar in the house and burning copies during budget tabling," said Girish Bapat, Parliamentary affairs minister. Following the uproar, 19 opposition MLAs were suspended for nine months by the speaker.
Suspension of opposition MLAs Abdul Sattar, DP Sawant, Sangram Thopte, Amit Jhanak from Congress and Vaibhav Pichad, Dattatraya Bharne Avdhoot Tatkare, Deepak Chavan and Narhari Jhirwad from NCP were revoked on Saturday after a resolution for revoking suspension was passed by the ruling members. The other 10 MLAs who were suspended on March 22 were also given respite on Friday.
