Maharashtra Assembly elections: Meet Speaker Haribhau Bagde
He was born in a Maratha family in Aurangabad district.
The Trust Vote sought by Devendra Fadnavis unraveled a number of compelxities in Indian politics. While BJP sweeps the majority of seats with 122 berths, it is still short of the clear majority margin of 144. The Shiv Sena is believed to be still indecisive on seat sharing with the BJP as they are not happy with the berths they have been offered.

Earlier reports suggested that Shiv Sena was willing to sit in the opposition and was also planning to field its own speaker. However, it later withdrew its member from the Speaker position and Bhagde became the uncontested winner of the Speaker. Latest reports suggest that BJP seems to have passed its second litmus test too by winning the Trust Vote and Devendra Fadnavis will continue his tenure as the Chief Minister.
