In view of the same, Congress MLA Arvinder Singh Lovely was quoted as saying to IBNlive in an interview, "As there was no single largest party ready to form the government, repolls were the only option. We have been demanding it and dissolution of Delhi Assembly for a long time."
When Lovely was asked about who will be the face of Congress in the upcoming polls, Lovely said, "Sheila Dikshit was never the face of Delhi. She was just the chief minister. There are many leaders and party will take the decision at the right time. The central leadership will lead the party."
Despite facing rout in Assembly elections in Haryana and Maharashtra, Lovely is confident about making a comeback in Delhi as he said, "Delhi has been without a government for a year and there is no anti-incumbency against Congress. People have already witnessed so many problems - price rise, inflation, increase in water and power bills, security issue and are smart enough to judge."
He also said that God should save the national capital and our country if people will vote on Modi wave's basis.
When asked about what he has to say about Modi wave, Lovely said, "Given the present situation, if people vote on the basis of Modi wave, then god should save Delhi and India."
Earlier also at the time of Lok Sabha polls, Delhi Congress chief Arvinder Singh Lovely had claimed that the 'Modi wave' that everyone seems to be talking about was "not there at all" and it existed only in media.
"There is no 'Modi wave' you keep asking me about, it all exists just in newspapers and media," Lovely told reporters after casting his vote in East Delhi constituency in the Lok Sabha polls here.
