New Delhi, Dec 13: After four subsequent delays on various occasions, the Jan Lokpal Bill has finally been allotted six hours of discussion in the Rajya Sabha; probably to avoid last time's experience of the Bill being passed by the Lok Sabha and rejected by the latter.

There is one more twist to the tale-this time, BJP has insisted that the Bill is not diluted and that the key recommendations of a select committee, while redrafting the Bill, be accepted.

Senior BJP Arun Jaitley was found saying,"We won't allow the government to subvert the select committee report." Union Minister, V Narayanswamy, however said in response, "Let the house decide. We have an open mind."

Among the key recommendations include transferring an investigating officer only on the clearance provided by the Lokpal and arresting an errant official without any warrant.

Meanwhile, Anna Hazare, who is on an indefinite hunger strike, has issued a notice to the government demanding that the Lokpal Bill is passed in this session of the parliament only.

"We will see whether the government brings the Lokpal or joke-pal," Anna said.
