Chennai, March 6: Tamil Nadu sports minister S Sundararaj on Thursday, March 3 night created a huge controversy, by making a surprise inspection at District Sports Hostel in Pudukkottai.
According to reports, Sundararaj was reportedly drunk and he even asked uncomfortable questions with few girls.
Also, he was not accompanied by any woman warden. Reports claimed that he also touched the t-shirts of some girls, making them feel embarrassed.
He even went on to ask a girl that she has gained weight, while putting his hands at her waist and asked her whether her mother knows about it.
The girl, hesitatingly said that her father knows on which minister mockingly asked her that her mother is not living with his father.
The video of his interaction with girls has gone viral, in which he is also seen asking a woman athlete whether she has enough banyans (vests) and gestures at her.
To another girl student, he asks, "Why you are being fed if you aren't bringing medals. We pay Rs 900 for your shoes and give you Rs 250 for food every day, more than what a student in other colleges get"
To another student, he asks, "have you physically matured and are you wearing gold earrings or artificial one?"
However, on being questioned by a leading daily, Sundararaj said that he visited hostel to congratulate an athlete who had won medals at recent South Asian games and to motivate other students.
PMK wants him to be sacked
Meanwhile, accusing Sundararaj of inappropriate behaviour, PMK chief Anbumani Ramadoss demanded that he should be sacked for humiliating girl students.
Reacting to the allegations, AIADMK spokesperson C R Saraswathi said, "We are yet to see the video".
