Lalu's supporter dies after hearing verd
Patna, Oct 4: A supporter of former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad collapsed and passed away after hearing a court in Ranchi sentencing for five-years in connection to the 17-year-old fodder scam on Thursday.

Another supporter is on a fast since Monday to protest the punishment awarded to the convicted Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo.

The deceased, Bantilal Sah, 70, was a big fan of Prasad and also a local RJD leader. He was a resident of Basantpur Uri in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. He collapsed and died as soon as the news about Prasad's sentence flashed on the television. He returned home on Thursday morning after meeting the party chief on Monday, just before he was convicted by a special CBI court.

The other supporter, Rama Rai, 50, who is on a fast since Monday, is a resident of Datra Pursali village in Saran district of Bihar. Sources said Rai has vowed to take food only after meeting Prasad in jail. He reportedly collapsed temporarily after hearing his leader's sentencing.

RJD supporters across Bihar have been left in a state of shock after hearing the news of his punishment.
