Although a very busy politician, Banerjee ensures that she releases at least one book in every year's Book Fair. Some of her latest books that have earned her a lot of fame as an author include 'Poribortan' (Change), 'Kobita' (Poems) and 'My Unforgettable Memories'.
Her last year's book of poems 'Netai' were critically acclaimed for her portrayal of human suffering, protests and human rights violations. Based on the killing on 9 unarmed villagers in the Netai village in Midnapore, the book shows her in a new light. Two of her other books 'Maa' and 'Pallabi' have been critically acclaimed, while children take great pleasure in her 'Shishu Shathi' and 'Ajab Chhora'. However, 'Upalabdhi' (Achievement), which is a collection of political essays continues to be at the top.
