Kolkata, June 20: A blast at the God Church School in Kolkata has injured one student. The bomb according to sources was planted in the school's playground. The blast occurred when the students were out on the playground. One student has been injured in the blast.
The investigations have just commenced and there is no clarity on who could have planted the bomb. The police are not yet able to ascertain the nature of the bomb as yet. The area has been sanitised and been marked as clear, police sources informed.

Based on eye witness accounts, the police have learnt that there was a loud explosion at the playground earlier during the day. The injured student has been rushed to hospital and is undergroing treatment. The student is out of danger, sources also informed.
Sources also confirmed that all the rest of the students and staff are safe and there have been no reports of any casualty.
The area was cordoned off and the bomb squad was pressed into service. Sources say that they have santised the entire area and the area is clear of any danger now. A forensic team will also be pressed into service to ascertain the nature of the bomb.
The God Church School is situated in the Dum Dum Cantonment area of Kolkata. The school has been rated as one of the top institutes in the state of West Bengal.
