Bangalore, April 5: The Lok sabha election is set to begin on April 7 and will continue till May 12. The results will be declared on May 16.

The election will see elections to 543 parliamentary seats across 28 states and seven Union territories (UT).

OneIndia brings to you the poll statistics from each state and UT of the Union.

State: Tripura

Election dates: April 7 & 12

Number of Lok Sabha constituencies: 2

Name of the constituencies: Tripura East, Tripura west

2009 result (seats): CPM -2

2009 party-wise vote-share:

Voters: 23 Lakhs, (2.3 million)

Fact: In 2009, CPM won the two PCs in Tripura, the third smallest state in the country. But in 2009, their vote share was lower than that in the previous general election. This time, the Modi wave might impact the election in Tripura, where corruption in government administration is rampant.
