KLF chief Mintoo who escaped from Punjab jail arrested

Dreaded terrorist and Khalistan Liberation Force Chief, Harminder Singh Mintoo who escaped from the Punjab jail has been arrested. Following a major search operation, Mintoo was arrested in Delhi.

New Delhi, Nov 28: Dreaded terrorist and Khalistan Liberation Force Chief, Harminder Singh Mintoo who escaped from the Punjab jail has been arrested. Following a major search operation, Mintoo was arrested in Delhi.

On Sunday ten armed men wearing police uniforms fired several rounds before taking away Mintoo and four others with them. The other gangsters who were freed by the armed men were Gurpreet Singh, Vicky Gondhra, Nitin Deol and Vikramjeet Singh Vicky.

Mintoo Arrested

Mintoo who was wanted in 10 different terror cases was arrested on November 8 2014 at the IGI airport in Delhi. He was arrested while he was returning from Thailand. He is wanted in several cases including the 2008 attack on Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and 2010 recovery of explosives at Halwara Air Force station.

Mintoo, 47 had deflected from the Wadhawa Singh-led Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) to take over its splinter outfit KLF in 2009. His arrest was dubbed as a major catch by the Punjab police.

According to the intelligence bureau, Mintoo had been tasked by the ISI to carry out an Independence Day attack in 2014.
