South Kolkata will see the protest as Nabottama Pal, a student of Jadavpur University, told, "We are protesting against the organised instances of moral policing. Interested citizens are welcome to join us."
Speaking about their decision of holding Kiss of Love protest in the city, the young student said, "From Kochi to Kolkata, instances of moral policing are not rare. A saffron wave is slowly but surely engulfing the country -- be it through accusations of conducting 'Love Jihad' for loving a person from a different religion or attack on young people displaying affection."
Details of Kiss of Love organised by Jadavpur University:
Students of university will form a human chain and will walk from the university premises to Jadavpur police station. During their walk, the students planned to show their affection for each other through "kissing, hugging," and "whichever way we feel comfortable and consent to".
Later the students will move to 8B bus stand opposite the university campus. Their the young students will have a discussion on the need for such protest against moral policing.
A similar protest will be held by Presidency University students near their university campus at 2 pm.
Young students decided to come on street just a day after one incident where a girl was harassed and was denied permission to enter into a theatre as she wore a knee-length skirt. Recently, young men and women held Kiss of Love protest on Nov 2. It was their protest against moral policing in the state.
