Bengaluru, April 5: The manner in which the NIA officer, Mohammad Tenzil Ahmed was killed shows that his assailants had a major grudge against him.
There were 24 bullets pumped into his body and this indicates that there was an intense desire to kill him. The assailants showed that they wanted the officer dead at any cost and hence pumped so many bullets into him.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh police has got some clues regarding the assailants. The two bike borne men who killed the officer are said to have been at the wedding that the officer attended last Saturday.
The video footage of wedding shows that two persons were not known to anyone in the family.
Case will be cracked soon:
The UP police with the assistance of the NIA is hopeful of cracking the case soon. Based on the images obtained from the video footage at the wedding, the investigators are trying to track down these two men.
Immediately after the murder the borders were sealed off and the police feel that the killers may have not escaped from the state.
Meanwhile, the Chief of the Uttar Pradesh police, Javed Ahmed says that they are probing all angles in the case.
We are also checking with people who he used to meet when he visited his hometown at Bijnor. He used to visit his hometown frequently, Ahmed also informed.
However, what is clear is that the attack was a planned one. It appears as though the killers were trailing him since the time he attended the wedding.
The killers followed the officer and shot him in a deserted area around 300 metres from his hometown, preliminary investigations also show.
