Kidnapping gang busted, five held
Bengaluru, Feb 4: A gang of five persons involved in running an escort agency was busted by Electronic City police, in connection with a case of kidnapping.
The arrested were identified as Abdul Karim (28), Mohammed Saleem (27), Abbas (31), Sainuddin (24) and Sammer. All of them hail from Kodagu. The police has also seized cash of Rs 11,000, two cars and five mobile phones from them.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the cops that they used to download girls' pictures from the internet and tempt customers by advertising them online.
According to a complaint filed in Electronic City police station, the accused promised to the complainant that they would supply girls and asked him to meet them near HC Gate near Electronic City. "When the person reached at the spot, four men asked him to sit in a car, saying they would take him to select a girl," the police said.
"The group later took him to NICE road and threatened him saying they were police, who are probing a bomb blast case. They also said that he was one of the suspects," the police added.
The convicts snatched the wrist watch, wallet, mobile phone and Rs 10,000 from the complainant by brandishing a knife
The police also stated that the accused also snatched his ATM cards, and demanded the PIN number. Following which, they withdrew Rs 87,000 from the account. The very next day, at around 2 am, the complainant was dropped near the Mandya bus stand before the gang fled.
The police busted the scandal by pretending as potential customers. Senior police officers said that they are investigating whether the gang has committed similar offences in the past.
