Kejriwal urges Gadkari to back odd-even

New Delhi, April 12: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday, April 12 met Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and urged him to back the second phase of the odd-even traffic scheme aimed at battling pollution.

Kejriwal, accompanied by Transport Minister Gopal Rai, also urged Gadkari to extend the date for registration of e-rickshaws by six months. The last date for registration was March 31, an official said.

"The chief minister discussed several issues with Gadkari including odd-even and extension of date for registration of e-rickshaws. He also sought Gadkari's support to improve the traffic situation in (Delhi)," said the official.

Gadkari assured "full support" to the Delhi government in the fight against pollution, the official added.

The union minister also said the government would invest Rs.30,000 crore to decongest the National Capital Region.
