Kejriwal accuses RIL, Congress of manipulating gas prices
Kejriwal accuses the Reliance Industries of raising the price of natural gas. The new price scheme would only serve the interests of RIL, he said and alleged that Congress and other political parties had benefited from it.
"We have received a complaint here and have asked the Anti Corruption Bureau to file a case against all those involved," Kejriwal said. He said that the case named Veerappa Moily, Murli Deora, Mukesh Ambani and head of the government regulator VK Sibal and he would write to the Prime Minister seeking action against them.
'4 people have complained to the state government about the gas prices'
The Delhi CM said that 4 people have complained to the state government about the irregularity in gas prices.
"According to the cost sheet attached by Reliance industries, the cost to take gas out from well is less than $1. It was a contract for 17 years with NTPC. It was to be sold at $2.3 but it was soon made $4", alleged Kejriwal.
He added that the industry giant created artificial shortage in the market and in cahoots with central government ministers, the prices could be further raised to $8 from April 1, this year.
"The same unit is providing gas to Bangladesh at $2", he added. "If prices are increased to $8, it will lead to Rs 44,000 crore profit for Reliance".
