Kazakhstan consulate established in Chennai

To strenghten its 25 years relation with India, Kazakhstan had opened consulate in Chennai of Tamil Nadu.

Chennai, April 28: The government of Kazakhstan on Thursday opened its consulate in Chennai of Tamil Nadu. The consulate will be headed by the well-known businessman and Chairman of Kirtilals, Suraj Shantakumar. The consular district will include states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

Speaking to the reporters, Kazakhstan ambassador to India Bulat Sarsenbayev observed the symbolism of the event in the year of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Kazakhstan.

He said that with the establishment of consulte in Chennai, the developed Information Technology industry, engineering, tourism and transport infrastructure, the country will extend cooperation in these areas.

He maintained that Kazakhstan share a very strong realtionship with India and added that Suraj would help advance efforts of the Embassy in building a stronger realtionship between two countries.

Sarsenbayev also said that he is focussed on projects like ATOM, the Shangal Cooperation Organisation, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and discussed on the international exhibition EXPO-2017.

Supreme Court judge Justice R K Agarwal was the chief guest of the event.
