Karnataka: PU Principals' Association issues controversial guidelines for safety of girl students
In the revised guideline, it is suggested that colleges will monitor the entry and the exit of the female students. But what caused public outrage was the fact that colleges are planning to monitor the internet activities of the girl students.
However, the Secretary of the Pre-univerity college Pricipals' association said that the directives are just recommendations.
One of the other things that have been recommended to be implemented is celebration of birthday parties and other parties during day time. Meanwhile, the association says that the directives will issued with the consent of the students and their parents. The girl student community is divided on the issue. A section believes that students should not protest as this was being done for their own good.
Schools and colleges are our second homes. Parents should take care of their girl's safety," said a girl from Bengaluru.
