Bengaluru, Aug 31: Karnataka may observe state-wide bandh (strike) on Saturday, Sept 5. This time the bandh call has been given by the Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers Association and the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene.
The groups, which represent farmers of the state, called for bandh as the group members accused Karnataka government and Narendra Modi government at the Centre of showing indifferent attitude towards the problems of farmers.
It has been reported that the three groups would not allow any political party to take part in the bandh, which may hit the state on Sept 5.
However, farmers, social organisations and pro-Kannada organisations are expected to take part in the bandh.
Meanwhile, it also has been reported that the groups may hold a protest rally in Bengaluru on Sept 7 against the state government's failure to announce steps to end farm suicides.
