Jodhpur court reserves order on Asaram's bail, lies nailed

Jodhpur, Sept 4: In a recent development, the Jodhpur court reserved the order on Asaram's bail plea on Tuesday. The court is expected to deliver its decision later during the day.

As of now it appears that Asaram is likely to spend more sleepless nights in the jail. Asaram's lawyer K K Menon however made a startling statement outside the court demanding that a DNA test be conducted on the girl, to confirm whether she is a minor or not.

It was earlier reported that the Jodhpur police may slap Asaram with the stringent laws under the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act.

The lawyers told the court that if Asaram is given bail, he may try to tamper the evidence and influence the case.

Asaram had applied for bail, citing health reasons. He was arrested amidst high drama on Saturday night in Indore and then was brought to Jodhpur for interrogation.

Ever since he was asked to appear before the Jodhpur Police, Asaram was evading his arrest citing many reasons like a relative's death, a disciple's health and his own health and sought more time to appear before the court.
