Srinagar, Feb 1: The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, N N Vohra has directed both the BJP and the PDP to clarify its stand on the formation of the government by Tuesday, Feb 2. The Governor issued the ultimatum as both parties are still locked in negotiations over the future of the alliance.
The Governor has said that both parties must ensure that there is clarity on the future of the alliance by tomorrow. The governor's ultimatum comes in the wake of both parties refusing to blink on the future of the alliance.
Following the death of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has decided to re-negotiate the terms of the alliance. However, the BJP has made it clear that it is no mood to re-negotiate the agenda of alliance. The BJP has said that it took two months of negotiations before the alliance was formed.
If there are any issues that then the PDP should raise it before the coordination committee, the BJP has also added. The PDP on the other hand has put out a series of demands that it wants the BJP to adhere to in order for the coalition to continue in Jammu and Kashmir.
