Ranchi, Aug 15: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday appealed to misguided youth of the state to shun the path of violence and join the mainstream for propelling the state to prosperity.
Without naming Left Wing Extremism, the Chief minister said while unfurling the tricolour that the misguided youth were forgetting the correct path and being misled into forests and handed over weapons in the belief that system can be changed by weapons.
"Weapons cannot change the system as the path is incorrect. See what happened to the communist countries.
Our eyes should open," he said. "The common man wants peace and desires development and a bright future for their children. We too desire the same ...peace is necessary for development and our priority is law and order," said the chief minister.
Committing to bring about change through good, easy and transparent governance, Das said his dream was to rid the state of corruption and in this regard the state vigilance bureau has been reshaped into anti-corruption bureau.
He said changes have been made in the rules to rein in irregularities in chit funds. The CM said his endeavour was to serve the people with the motto - together with all, development for all - and added that officials were asked to be accountable to the people at the local levels.
