New Delhi, Dec 3: Private carrier Jet Airways on Thursday announced that they will allow 'full refund' or 'free of charge' rescheduling of confirmed tickets between December 1 and December 8, for its Chennai flights.
The rescheduling, however, will be subjected to the availability of seats, Jet Airways said in a release. The rain-hit Chennai airport has been closed for operations till December 6.
Jet Airways guests with confirmed tickets to and from Chennai between December 1 and 8, 2015 will be allowed full refund or complimentary change of booking to alternative dates, depending on seat availability, the airline said.
The operations at Chennai airport have been suspended till 12 noon on December 6 due to water-logging caused by heavy rainfall, it said, adding that in the interest of safety of its guests, crew and aircraft, Jet Airways has also cancelled all its flights to and from Chennai until December 6.
The Jet Airways customers are advised to visit its website or call its call centre on (city code) 39893333 for information on their flights, the airlines said.
Meanwhile, budget carrier IndiGo said that they will operate additional flights on December 4 to accommodate passengers coming from Chennai through surface transport.
These additional flights include two daily flights on Bangalore-Mumbai-Bangalore sector and one flight to Delhi from Bangalore. IndiGo will also operate one flight from Bangalore to Hyderabad and back to accommodate the passengers, it said.
Passengers who reach Bangalore with valid tickets from Chennai, whose flights had got cancelled, will be accepted without any additional charge, change fees or cancellation fees, the airline said.
Additional flights will also enable IndiGo to transport food and other required items through cargo, it added.
