Jayalalithaa in jail but her supporters create mess in Bangalore
AIADMK supporters including former MP Govindarajan protested outside Karnataka High Court as Jayalalithaa's bail plea hearing has been adjourned till Oct 7.
Lawyers, who have been supporting Jayalalithaa, sat on dharna outside Karnataka High Court and protested against the decision by the special bench of the high court.
The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday, Oct 1 deferred the bail plea hearing saying that the case should be heard by a regular court.
Jayalalithaa was sentenced to 4 years in jail on Sept 27 in a verdict in the disproportionate assets case. Protests had erupted across Tamil Nadu as Jayalalithaa's supporters went on a rampage.
While the AIADMK chief was asked to pay Rs 100 crore, the three other convicts in the case were fined Rs 10 crore each. The AIADMK chief is lodged in VVIP cell number 23 in the Central Prison at Parappana Agrahara in Bangalore.
