#JayaVerdict: Jayalalithaa acquitted, jokes cracked on Twitter
Bengaluru, May 11: Karnataka High Court on Monday, May 11 acquitted Jayalalithaa and four others in 18-year-old disproportionate assets (DA) case.
67-year-old Jayalalithaa was forced to resign as Tamil Nadu CM when a special court in Bengaluru in 2014 convicted all accused in the same case. She was sent to jail and later was released on bail.
Now, after the judgment by the Karnataka High Court, supporters of Jayalalithaa began celebration across Tamil Nadu. Sources informed that the AIADMK chief is likely to take oath as the CM of the state on May 17.
While her supporters were celebrating, many people criticised the verdict. Micro-blogging site Twitter was flooded with comments as #JayaVerdict was trending on top on Monday.
