JK: Ex-militant shot dead, 3-yr old son succumbs injuries.

Srinagar, Sept 19: The 3-year old boy who was shot along with his father, who was an ex-militant, has succumbed to his injuries today in Sopore of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.

Burhan who was in the arms of his father Bashir Ahmad Bhat when unknown gunmen open fired at them, killing Ahmad and severely injuring the child. While both were rushed to the hospital, Ahmad died on his way, the baby was still battling.

A senior police officer said,"His three-year-old son, who was in his arms at the time of the attack, was critically injured and later lost his fight for life. The gunmen initially lobbed a grenade towards Bhat which didn't explode and then they open fired."
