J&K: Video showcases brutal attack on nomads, pleading for mercy, by gau rakshaks
Now, video evidence has emerged as how a nomadic family was attacked by a group of alleged gau rakshaks in Jammu and Kashmir recently.
Srinagar, April 24: Recently, a family of nomads was brutally attacked in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district by a group of alleged gau rakshaks (cow vigilantes). Now, a video has emerged showcasing how brutally the family was attacked by an angry mob in spite of repeatedly pleading for 'mercy'.
In the video, you can see how the family, staying under tin sheets as their makeshift home was attacked by several men in full presence of police personnel for possessing cattle.
The attackers were also heard chanting slogans like Jai Shri Ram in the video. Check the video below:

During the attack, the family of five, consisting of a nine-year-old girl and an elderly man were also injured. The elderly man of the family was attacked with a rod by the mob. He was seen severely bleeding after the attack in the video.
"Eleven people have been arrested for thrashing members of the nomadic family while they were transporting bovines without permission on Thursday evening," a senior policeman Tahir Bhat told PTI.
The police had also registered a case against four members of the family for transporting cattle without permission. The police had restored the family's cattle, sheep and goats, said media reports.
