It's a "Big Day" for Flipkart amid "hoax" cries on Twitter
While there were some who did manage to get goof deals on cosmetics and smaller items, high-end deals like tabs and mobiles were out of stock within seconds. 16 GB pendrive, Lenovo tabs, Samsung mobile etc had close to 70-80% sale offer, but were out of stock within seconds.
"I wanted a pendrive and had selected the item and kept it ready since 7:45 am. The moment the clock ticket 8:00 am, I clicked on the buy button, but it never appeared on my cart. It then popped up a message "out of stock" and it was just 8:05 am then," said Nishi, a content developer.
Another professional, Sunanda got a very good deal on Chetan Bhagat's Half Girlfriend, which she got for Rs 99 when the actual price was Rs 145. Interestingly, after an order was placed, the next lot appeared with a price tag of Rs 150 and the MRP surprisingly was Rs 175.
Some even complain that the pricing is more than what what Amazon is offering. Add to it the confusion of fluctuating prices, which consumers believe is a strategy to compensate for products whose prices have been slashed down heavily.
At the end of the day, Twitter provided the real picture, here are some of them-both hilarious and anxious:
