Jaipur, Dec 11: The arrest of the marketing manager in the Indian Oil Corporation for his alleged link to the ISIS may just be a tip of the iceberg. He is currently being questioned in Rajasthan the state where he was arrested and the Anti Terrorist Squad feels that more arrests are likely in other parts of the country.
Mohammad Sirajudin is a resident of Gulbarga in Karnataka and was working in Jaipur as a marketing manager at the Indian Oil Corporation. The allegation against him is that he was trying to influence youth to join the ISIS.
A team of the Karnataka police is also likely to question him since he hails from Gulbarga. The Karnataka police is in touch with the Rajasthan ATS and says will provide any information that is sought against him.
The Karnataka police is also likely to dispatch a team in the next couple of days to Rajasthan to question Sirajudin to ascertain if there was any link to his home state.
Data analysis led to his arrest
Additional Director of the Rajasthan ATS, Alok Tripathi informed OneIndia that Sirajuddin was nabbed on the basis of the data analysis of his internet records.
It shows that through social media sites he was attempting to lure youth into joining the ISIS. He posted messages, photos and videos on WhatsApp groups and Facebook, Tripathi also added.
The police would now try and ascertain the extent of his activity. He could have recruited several persons from other parts of the country.
However, those details are subject to investigation, police officials also informed. It could well be a tip of the ice berg, the officials added while stating that they would share information with the respective states if any links were found.
