ISI asks LeT, Hizbul, JeM to carry out attacks in India: Intel reports

New Delhi, Nov 27: India received intelligence reports that Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI held meeting with terror outfits in PoK and ask them to carry out attacks in India, media reported.

The reports have emerged when India was observing the 7th anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
According to Times of India, ISI asked some 30 militants from the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Hizbul Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Muhammed (JeM) to carry out attacks in India.

These militants travelled from Peshawar to camp in PoK to participate in the meeting headed by an ISI handler, identified as Showkat Khan.

Reports added that ISI is ready to offer logistical help to the three outfits. They have been brought close to the Line of Control (LoC) to participate in the strike. These militants may carry out attacks in the next one month.
"We are making every possible attempt to get all details of the operation which has been planned by the Pakistani establishment with the terror outfits," said an official.

Apart from serial bombings from various cities in India, these three outfits have carried out major attacks in India, including the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, 2000 Red Fort attack, 2001 Parliament attack and September 2011 Delhi high court attack.

The Centre has asked beefing up of security measures and intensifying vigil along the borderand LoC.
