Insulting national anthem: Lucknow court dismisses Karan Johar's plea
The court observed that prima facie the allegations against Karan Johar appeared to be correct.
It was pleaded on behalf of Johar that the movie was passed by the Censor Board of Film Certification which did not find anything insulting in the movie.
The case against Karan was filed by a local resident Pratap Chandra. The complaint was filed in 2002 under the Prevention of Insult to the National Honour Act, 1971.
The Allahabad High Court had earlier dismissed Johar's plea for quashing of the case, after which he had approached the Supreme court. However, the Supreme Court too told the film director that he should appear before the trial court judge in Lucknow who had issued summons to him in the case.
