According to media reports, a group of women did not reveal their identity and sent a mail from an unidentified email ID -- 'firstname.lastname@example.org.
The mail claimed, "We are a group of women employees working in the secretarial and compliance team at Infosys. We had filed a sexual harassment complaint against (name withheld)."
The mail also added, "Even though, the charges were serious, the board had not taken action and is hushing up the whole case." The group of women urged media to help them to get justice. The mail said, "We request you to take up this issue and get us justice."
'Infosys board had not taken action and is hushing up the whole case'
However, Infosys spokesperson refused to accept allegation saying the company has been investigation the allegation hurled against one senior executive.
The spokesperson said, "We take every sexual harassment complaint very seriously and each case is thoroughly and expeditiously investigated."
"Swift and appropriate actions are taken in all such cases. Keeping in view the privacy aspects we do not share particulars of individual cases," added the spokesperson of Infosys.
Media report, meanwhile, claimed that the IT giant has constituted a special investigation team which has come to the conclusion that it was a matter of 'gender insensitivity'.
Media report quoted a source as saying that appropriate action has already been taken against the accused senior executive.
Here it can be recalled that Infosys earlier in 2002 had dismissed Phaneesh Murthy on charges of sexual harassment. Murthy was then heading global sales for the company.
