Mumbai, Sept 1: Indrani is facing a tough time in police custody, but she did not break down until she was denied an advocate in private.

The first thing that she asked in her 30 minute meeting with her lawyer was "Are cops allowed to touch me?" Indrani has informed the lawyers that she is being ill-treated by the police and that her face is swollen and bruised.

Indrani said,"There is no way I am going to confess to something that I have not done," Indrani Mukerjea told her lawyer."

Indrani's lawyer too argued with the cops saying that a Supreme Court judgement allows a lawyer to speak to the clients in custody.

But in this case, Indrani was given just 30 minutes and that too in the presence of 5 Mumbai Police officials- 2 of them were senior Mumbai police officials, 2 women constables and a lady officer.

The cops do not allow Indrani to have home-cooked food for the fear of being poisoned, but have allowed her fruits from home.

Indrani's legal team said that the cops her misguiding her in order t break her down and are alleged to have said that her family is not standing by her, which is not true. The lawyers also allege that she is being beaten up in custody to confess to a crime she never did.

Indrani's Counsel Gunjan Mangla further said,"Police is not trying to investigate the matter, they are creating one."
