New Delhi, Oct 5: Domestic budget carrier IndiGo on Monday said it will connect Udaipur with Mumbai and New Delhi with daily non-stop flights to the lake city, from the coming winter schedule.

Udaipur will be the airline's 34th domestic destination, which also flies to five international destinations. Starting November 1, IndiGo will launch four new daily non-stop flights to Udaipur -- two each from New Delhi and Mumbai to cater to the growing air travel demand, the airline said.

Winter schedule of the airlines in India commences from the last Saturday of October. These new flights to Udaipur are a reflection of IndiGo's commitment to enhance air connectivity in western India, it said.

IndiGo had submitted a proposal to the aviation regulator DGCA in early August, to operate 60 additional flights in its winter schedule.

The Gurgaon-based no-frills airline, whose parent firm InterGlobe Aviation has already received approval from market regulator SEBI for its Rs 2,500 crore initial public offer, meets more than one-thirds of the domestic air travel demand.

Of the total 67.60 lakh passengers ferried by 11 domestic airlines including three regional carriers in August 2015, IndiGo flew 23.85 lakh passengers and accounted for 35.3 per cent of the overall market share.

IndiGo in its commitment to providing maximum air connectivity from across the country on its network by catering to various segments, will see both business and leisure passengers travelling to and from Udaipur, who will now have the opportunity to experience the hassle-free and on-time performance, the airline said.
