Indigo plane catches fire, narrow escape for 147 passengers onboard
According to TV reports, the flight from Mumbai had just landed at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport Terminal 1-D at 3.35 pm when the plane's front tyre caught fire.
Initial reports said that some passengers sustained injuries.
However, immediately after the incident, the Indigo Airlines issued a statement saying, "Flight Captain observed dense smoke from ATC tower. Captain immediately called for evacuation of crew and passengers.
In approximately 75 seconds, passengers were evacuated and plane made a normal landing.
2014 has been one of the worst years in terms of aviation safety as many aviation disasters took place all across the world.
