Jai Ho, Indian Railways: Suresh Prabhu responds to tweet, sends doctor, milk to child in train
New Delhi, Dec 16: Indian railway minister Suresh Prabhu has been hailed for his quick responds to the demands and necessities of rail passengers of the country. The minister, who is very active on social media, once again helped a couple who sought help for their 18-month-old child.
Suresh Prabhu sent a doctor and milk to the couple who was traveling in Marudhar Express from Varanasi to Gotan, near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The incident took place on Tuesday, Dec 15.
The couple was worried when they noticed that their son was suffering from high fever. Gyaneshwar Mishra, father of the child, did not waste time and sought help from Suresh Prabhu on micro-blogging site Twitter.
To his surprise, Gyaneshwar received a reply from the minister within a minute. The minister promised the couple that they would receive medical assistance in the next railways station which was Etwah.
A doctor indeed boarded the train to treat the child and the couple was handed over a can of milk for their baby. The couple also stated that railway officials took special care of the child throughout the journey.
This was not the first time when Suresh Prabhu took advantage of the social media to help railway passengers. The minister has helped many other passengers earlier as well.
